I purchased a Tracfone and monthly service via their web page. I followed their instructions to port my old phone number from my old provider (Xfinity) to my new Tracfone. It didn't work. I spent 4 days and well over 20 hours on the phone with various tech support and customer service, and while they succeeded in disconnecting the service from my Xfinity phone, they never succeeded in getting my new Tracfone to make or receive calls or texts. At various points, they informed me that it was because I hadn't paid, which, of course, I had, as that was how I got the phone sent to me in the first place. After 4 days, I insisted on getting a full refund, and while I have waited on hold for an hour and a half just trying to get the refund and spoken with 2 different people about said refund, they are currently refusing to provide the refund because they say that the phone works fine. Of course, it doesn't. I have had no working phone now for 4 days, and they are refusing to provide compensation. This is a terrible company. Customer service has all been outsourced to other countries, and the representatives have been given scripted responses that don't necessarily have anything to do with the complaint, and they are not given a way to transfer customers to someone who can actually help. While it may be tempting to save money with Tracfone, don't do it. In the end, you could be out several hundred dollars, and the customer service is so abysmal that if something goes wrong, you can be certain that they will not resolve it.
